What Is the FortiGate FortiWiFi 70G Series?
The FortiGate 70G and FortiWiFi 70G family brings enterprise-grade protection to small sites. Every appliance runs FortiOS, Fortinet’s AI-enriched, quantum-safe operating system, and is powered by Fortinet’s patented SP5 Secure SD-WAN ASIC, which accelerates security and networking functions far beyond what a general-purpose CPU can do, at lower cost and power consumption.
The series is available in two families. FortiGate 70G/71G models are wired firewalls. FortiWiFi 70G/71G models add a built-in dual-band Wi-Fi 6 access point, so one box replaces a separate firewall and wireless router. The 71G variants add a 64GB SSD for local storage, and the POE variants add four PoE/PoE+ ports to power cameras, phones and access points directly from the firewall.
An integrated SD-WAN and network controller is included in every FortiGate at no extra cost, so you can steer traffic across multiple internet links, secure direct internet access and keep applications responsive without buying a separate SD-WAN product.

What is the FortiGate FortiWiFi 70G Series?
It is a family of compact desktop next-generation firewalls from Fortinet that combine firewalling, SD-WAN, a network controller and AI-powered security services. FortiWiFi models also include built-in Wi-Fi 6.
What is the difference between FortiGate 70G and FortiWiFi 70G?
FortiGate 70G is a wired firewall. FortiWiFi 70G adds a built-in dual-band, dual-radio Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point with three SMA antenna ports.
What is the difference between the 70G and 71G models?
The 71G models add 64GB of internal SSD storage. Throughput and port counts are otherwise the same as the matching 70G model.
Which models have PoE?
FortiGate 70G-POE, FortiGate 71G-POE and FortiWiFi 70G-POE provide four PoE/PoE+ ports with a total PoE budget of 60 W and a maximum of 30 W per port (802.3at).
How fast is the FortiWiFi 70G?
Up to 10 Gbps firewall throughput, 2.5 Gbps IPS, 1.5 Gbps NGFW, 1.3 Gbps threat protection and 7.1 Gbps IPsec VPN throughput. Figures are lab values and vary with configuration.
Does the FortiGate 70G include SD-WAN?
Yes. An integrated SD-WAN and network controller is included in every FortiGate appliance at no extra cost.
Does the 70G Series support SSL-VPN?
